A gorgeous silverplated holloware chafing dish by Oneida. This is in the Jefferson Pattern and has its glass oven safe insert. It consists of four pieces, the lid, glass insert, silver plated bowl, and silver plated stand. This would make an elegant statement at any party or special occasion. It is a wonderful banquet dish and would be beautiful on a buffet. It would be a marvelous gift for any hostess.
A chafing dish is a kind of portable grate raised on a tripod and used for foods that require gentle cooking away from flames. The chafing dish could be used at a table or provided with a cover for keeping food warm on a buffet.
The word Chafing is from the French and means to make warm.

This silver plated chafing dish is in excellent condition. The silver bowl and stand have no marks or dents. There are some rub marks and scratches on the cover but no dents and nothing that takes away from the beauty of this great dish. None of the silver has any pitting. The glass bowl insert has no chips or cracks.
This would make a great gift for a silver collector, wedding, special occasion. Great for entertaining on holidays and special occasions.
I polish all the silver in my shop to be able to determine the condition and show it off at it's best.
