A beautiful children's Christmas hardcover book called One Wintry Night by Ruth Bell Graham. The book is wonderfully illustrated by Richard Jesse Watson. Age Range: 4 - 7 years. It is a 1996 third printing.
A young boy is lost in the woods one wintry night and is rescued by a woman who brings him into a warm, cozy cabin. By the blazing fire, she quiets him and weaves through his imagination the story of a child who fulfilled the promise God had made from the beginning of the world.
Ruth McCue Bell Graham (1920 – 2007) was an American Christian author, most well known as the wife of evangelist Billy Graham. Born in Qingjiang, Jiangsu, Republic of China, the second of five children, her parents, L. Nelson Bell and Virginia Leftwich Bell, were medical missionaries at the Presbyterian Hospital 300 miles north of Shanghai. At the age of 13, she was enrolled in Pyeng Yang Foreign School in Pyongyang, Korea, where she studied for three years. She completed her high school education at Montreat, North Carolina, while her parents were there on furlough. She graduated from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.
Richard Jesse Watson studied art at Pasadena City College and at Art Center College of Design. He has continued his artistic studies drawing from life and at museums and cathedrals. His awards and honors include the Golden Kite Award, the Parents' Choice Gold Award, People magazine's Best Picture Book of the Year, the IRA/CBC Children's Choice Award, and the C. S. Lewis Gold Medal. Richard lives with his wife, Susi, in Port Townsend, Washington.
