A wonderful children's hardcover book called Who Took The Farmer's Hat by Joan L. Nodset. This fictional book is beautifully illustrated by Fritz Siebel. Age Range 2 - 7. For the very young child, it would be a wonderful read to me and picture book.

The wind snatches Farmer Brown's hat one day and sends it off on a merry chase. The farmer runs after it and asks all the animals he sees, "Have you seen my hat?" No one has seen the hat. Fly has seen a brown hill and Goat has seen a brown flower pot. Children will delight as they realize that all the strange objects are really the hat in disguise. Will he ever get the hat back?

Joan L. Nodset is the pen name of children's book veteran Joan Lexau, who has authored several children's books


Fritz Siebel was born in 1913 in Vienna, Austria. He studied illustration at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna and immigrated to the United States in 1936. Siebel began to find work in advertising agencies and magazines, illustrating for Colliers, Holiday, and the Saturday Evening Post, and creating the now iconic advertising character Mr. Clean. He provided the illustrations for A Fly Went By with Beginner Books at Random House in 1959. He died in 1991.

As New: The book is in the same immaculate condition as when it was published. This could be the description for a book that has been lost in a warehouse for years, never shelved, thumbed or even opened yet may still be some years old.

Fine: A Fine book approaches the condition of As New, but without being crisp. The book may have been opened and read, but there are no defects to the book, jacket or pages.
