Syracuse China Platter, Mayfair Blue, Blue and White, Castle Center, Restaurant Grade, 13 Inch

A wonderful Syracuse China platter in the Mayfair Blue pattern. The pattern consists of a castle in the center and floral rim. This is a discontinued pattern. It is restaurant grade meaning that it is heavier than standard platters. This would look wonderful on a sideboard, buffet, or dinner table.

Syracuse China was located in Syracuse, New York. It was founded in 1871 as Onondaga Pottery Company in the town of Geddes, New York. In the late 19th century, Onondaga Pottery began producing fine china, for which it found a strong market, particularly in hotels, restaurants, and railroad dining cars. The manufacturing facility in Syracuse closed in 2009, after 138 years of operation.
