Hampered by curtailed funds, and forced into seeking devious ways to achieve the goal, in this case securing a dossier in the possession of the famous, beautiful, and traitorous Black Chrysanthemum who is the mistress of Japan's chief of secret service. The cosmopolitan melee of life in Saigon, with the muted mysteries of the underworld of the Orient as background, provide plenty of excitement.
Francis Van Wyck Mason (1901 – 1978) was an American historian and novelist. He had a long and prolific career as a writer spanning 50 years and including 78 published novels.
