Colonial Clear Pitcher, Imperial Glass, Paneled, Clear Pressed Glass, Tableware, Barware, One Quart
This is a stunning one quart pitcher with scalloped edges and paneled sides. It was made by Imperial Glass in the Colonial Clear Pattern. This would be great for serving milk at breakfast, iced tea or lemonade, or beer from a tap. It would make a grand statement on any table, buffet, sideboard, or on a home bar.
The Imperial Glass Company was founded in 1901 by Edward Muhleman, with production beginning in 1904. Their handmade glasswares were sold worldwide and were usually made of pressed glass patterns. The company's most famous product is its "Candlewick" series. The company hit rough times in the early 1970s and was close to bankruptcy. Imperial was saved by Lenox and turned to general manufacture, but low demand eventually led to its closure in 1984.
