Noritake China Oval Platter, Empire, Occupied Japan, Floral Pattern, 16 Inch, Multi-floral, Gold Trim
A gorgeous oval serving platter by Noritake China made in Occupied Japan. The pattern name is Empire and consists of multicolored flowers in the center and on the rim with gold trim. This is a really beautiful platter and would make a great display piece as well as a useable serving dish. It will be a great way to own a piece of the past. Make a grand statement on any dining table, sideboard, or buffet table with this elegant and versatile platter that is perfect for entertaining.
Noritake with this back stamp was only made during one year -- 1947. "Komaru" symbol crowned by "Noritaké" and below "Made in Occupied Japan".
Many items being exported from Japan from 1945 to 1952 were required by law to be marked with the words “Occupied Japan”, or “Made in Occupied Japan”. General Douglas MacArthur started this to help Japanese people with their post-war economic recovery.

This beautiful platter is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing. There is some utensil marks and rubbing to the gold trim which is to be expected with china of this age.
A perfect platter for a holiday or special occasion. A great gift for a wedding shower, wedding, holiday or other special occasions.
