An antique oval sugar bowl with lid by T & R Boote Waterloo Potteries. The pattern is called Flemish Garland and consists of floral swags, embossing, and gold trim. Elegance is the one word that definitely describes this lovely sugar bowl. This is a fantastic display piece and an elegant way to serve sugar at your next tea party or for every day.

Boote was founded by Thomas and Richard Boote in Burslem, Staffordshire, England, in 1842. The company made pavement tiles, Parian ware, and earthenware. It began making white graniteware for export to the United States in 1888. Production was limited to tiles after 1906. T. & R. Boote used a boat as part of its mark from 1890 to 1906.

An antique sugar bowl in excellent condition. There are no cracks, chips, or crazing which is unusual for china of this age. It is approximately 130 years old. There is some rubbing to the gold trim.
